Episode 3 – Building and Developing a Community

This week we are without the company of James Spence but the rest of the team nevertheless manage to plod on in a suitably heroic manner. We discuss building a community and developing it once you’ve got one. We also discuss summoning robot fish in kids’ cartoon shows and how Aquaman sucks.

Good show. Of particular interest was you guys talking about the length some people seem to go to get pron in PW ads. Gonna keep an eye on that.

Luke, I just checked the PhD Comics site – haven’t been there since my postgrad days.

I agree with Zoe: what we’ve been observing on sites such as the TWCL lately is indeed a very worrying trend. I do hope that none of you will be put off by this – the more reasonable people stay active in the community and keeping these dicks at bay, the better. As they say “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.”

Mods can do only that much and not always in a way they used to when they weren’t mods (if you know what I mean). What really helps is the community as a whole cracking down on these people like a ton of bricks. To keep the webcomic community the place the majority of us wants it to be.

There are no lenghts some people will not go to to show porn to people who don’t want to see it. It is like a quest for them, a holy mission from a church that wears no clothes.

Great podcast, guys. Sorry I couldn’t be there for it, as it was a really interesting discussion. Though spookily, listening to it was a little like ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ where I got to experience what life would be like if I didn’t exist!

    Great work, gang!

We missed you (but our aim is getting better! – hehe. Only joking!)

We have to get you back on the next podcast. It’s only 75% as fun-packed and interesting with one of our guys gone!
